A letter never sent
Dear you, I pen these lines with a heart full of ache,
Words that linger softly, but the silence they make.
Beneath the moon’s glow, I search for your name,
Yet shadows remind me that nothing’s the same.
I speak to the stars, my confessions untold,
In a world where our dreams have grown bitter and cold.
The laughter we shared now echoes in vain,
Each memory a thread woven deep with the pain.
I wonder if you feel the weight of this night,
If your heart holds the echoes of love's fading light.
The moments we danced in the warmth of the sun,
Now slip through my fingers, like grains slowly spun.
I crafted this letter, each word a small prayer,
But the fear of your absence, it lingers in the air.
So I’ll fold it with care, and leave it unsent,
A testament to love and the time that we spent.
One day, perhaps, when the stars align right,
I’ll find the courage to speak in the light.
Until then, my dear, in this quiet refrain,
I’ll carry you softly, through joy and through pain.
